A Heritage or Legacy entry door typically installs for $2,200–$4,000. Signet with decorative glass and sidelites commonly runs $4,500–$8,000. Embarq, full entry systems with transoms, and multi-panel configurations go higher. Storm doors typically add $600–$1,400.
Is ProVia actually better than a big-box door?
Yes, and the difference is measurable rather than marketing. ProVia builds each door to order rather than to a stock size, uses 20-gauge steel where most competitors use 24-gauge, and uses the Endura composite threshold system rather than a wood substrate that rots. It is also the reason they can offer a Lifetime Limited Transferable Warranty on the slab.
What is transferable warranty coverage worth?
It survives the sale of your house, which is genuinely rare in the door category and a real line item on a listing sheet. Most door warranties end the day you hand over the keys.
Fiberglass or steel?
Fiberglass for exposed entries, coastal or high-sun exposures, and any door you want to look like stained wood — it will not dent and will not rust. Steel for security-focused and lower-exposure openings where the price advantage matters. ProVia’s Legacy steel is 20-gauge, which resists denting far better than the 24-gauge doors sold at most retailers.
